This page contains adult content! If you're not 18+ or if you don't want to see me making heart eyes at monsters, then goodbye!

Okay, so, my favorite romance sub-genre is paranormal romance or, more specifically, monster romances. Yes, yes, I do find myself generally unlovable and wish that someone would look past all of my perceived faults and love my anyway. Don't worry. I have a therapist. I also own the first five books of the Ice Planet Barbarians series. They can co-exist.

This has always been my favorite sub-genere of romance. I was a Twilight girlie, so I started out with vampires and werewolves and it went from there. I graduated to paranormal romances and romtantasies, but both of those are just human-lite romances (aka that's just a man with fangs and pointy ears) and that's fine but, like. They're not really monsters, are they?

Anyways, this is just a fun little page where I can make heart eyes at idk the physical embodiment of death, sexy gargoyles, the headless horseman, and whatever else is creeping around in the dark.

monster romances I've read

Wednesday by Adrian Blue

I'd consider this a horror romance and a monster romance. (Yes, those are two different things.) But it was also pretty good. Giving up your humanity to be loved forever by the Thing That Lives Under the Graveyard? Goals.

A Gargoyle's Delight by Naomi Lucas and Mel Braxton

Sexy gargoyle goes brrrrrrrrr

The Scarecrow's Queen by Naomi Lucas and Mel Braxton

I DNF'd this one because it was almost the exact same as A Gargoyle's Delight plot-wise and it was boring.

Claimed by the Mothman by K.A.Bower

This was a five star read. I already bought the second one and I love the fact that Bower actually executed my idea for a supernatural apartment building far better than I ever could. This was just all around delightful.

Bound to the Shadow Prince by Ruby Dixon

DNF'd this one because halfway through I figured out that Ruby Dixon definitely has a breeding kink. Also fantasy diabetes makes an appearance.

Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon

So I own the first five books and I've read the first four. The rest of them are on my wishlist. There are 19. These are also an extension of Ruby Dixon's breeding kink, but she also very clearly had so much fun with the world building and designing the alien world that I forgive her.

Audited by the Anubis by Wendi Guff

This was so bad. Bad writing, bad pacing (we kept seeing the same scenes beat for beat from both of the character's POVs for some reason), bad smut. I have the rest of Wendi Guff's series (I bought the boxed set because it was cheaper) and I've already read the second book and it was better but I still DNF'd it because it had a weird sub-plot involving spawning and non-con and heat supressants that I wasn't really into.

Claimed by the Cthulhu by Wendi Guff

I DNF'd this one because it had a weird sub-plot involving spawning and non-con and heat supressants that I wasn't really into.

Hollow by C.M. Nascosta

This was a KU read that I did over the summer when Daddy Jeff begged me to spend money on his site and offered me a coupon. My apologies to Ichabod Crane, I skipped the first story. I hope you had fun getting railed! I, however, was here for the second story. You can blame my crush on the headless horseman on that one Fox TV show. I think it was called Sleepy Hollow.

A Heart So Haunted by Hollie Nelson

This was the first clean monster romance I've ever read and the monster did a Prince Adam and ended up as a human by the end of the story so IDK. It also had a weird therapy/redemption vibe that didn't make sense until I read the awknowledgements and found out that Hollie Nelson is a Christian.

His Darkest Craving by Tiffany Roberts

I only remember the end of this one. The cursed forest guardian eviscerates and murders her abusive ex-husband and it's really satisfying.
