I've been reading for as long as I can remember. Maybe longer than I can remember, tbh. I learned to read when I was five. My mom taught me and, apparently, the first book I ever read was Miss Mouse Finds Numbers.

While I've owned at least a full bookcase of books since I was old enough to ask for book money for my birthday, I'm also a huge HUGE library stan. I used to go to the local library at least once a week and come home with a stack of dinosaur books that I would read the same day. These days I go to the library less frequently, but I do still have a library card and use their digital catalogue all the time.

I'm still a huge reader to this day. As of 01/25/26, I've read 19 books already this year. I own around 800 books (about half ebook and half physical books) and I cherish my collection of vintage and antique books.

Bookish Hot Takes

A fun trend going around BookTube lately has been bookish hot takes. Most of the takes I've seen are ice cold and mine probably are too, but I still think it's fun lol.

• audiobooks count as reading
• you can own as many books as you want as long as you're being financially responsible and still actively reading the books you own
• shaming people for reading a lot of books a year is just as stupid as shaming someone for reading only a few books a year
• the genres you read don't dictate your intelligence
• you can criticise a book you loved and still love it
