75 Booked is a reading challenge that originated on TikTok with @emilypaigebooks. It's a reading variation on the 75 Hard challenge for athletes. It's also super popular right now! I've seen multiple people on various platforms trying it out and I figured "Why not me?"
The challenge, like all challenges, comes with a set of rules:
It's pretty simple and straightforward. But, like many other readers doing this challenge, I'm going to alter the rules a little to suit my situation better:
My changes aren't super big. But I don't typically read in bed, I'm pretty good at hydrating with a reminder, and I really need to read more of my physical book collection. As for setting a book budget for myself vs not buying any books: for some reason, whenever I try to go on a book buying ban I immediately go into a reading slump. I'm not sure why, but I think it has something to do with my brain connecting the ban with a false sense of scarcity even though I own around 800 physical and digital books. Clearly I'm not going to run out of books any time soon! But the two goblins stacked on top of each other that pilot my body refuse to believe that I won't run out of books if I stop buying them.
Anyways, I'll be starting this challenge on March 1st, 2026 (February is always a reading lull for me) and I'll be adding my log here every few days.
