I think I'm definitely going to have a seperate page for my "Around the Internet Today" section. What it comes down to is that the energy it requires to write a blog entry is different than the energy it takes to talk about cool things I've seen around the web. But that's okay! It means I get to make a cool newspaper themed page!
My podcast shrine is also slowly (very slowly) taking shape. I've decided that it's going to be cassette themed. I've been finding a lot of comfort in the aesthetics of my childhood recently (who can say why, it's probably fairly normal though) and I have vivid memories of my dad lending me his bright yellow Sony Walkman so I could listen to the radio. I was probably listening to the local oldies station. It was my favorite at the time and I still love old music.
In other music news, I finally deleted the Spotify app off my computer. I cancelled my subscription recently partly out of concern for my wallet and partially because, well, I've been listening to the same four songs since 2009 and I own most of them. And, well, the ones that I don't I can get. This is the second time I've cancelled Spotify in the last calendar year; but this time I'm feeling much more... joyful? about it. Like this time wasn't in a fit of pique, it was out of a genuine distaste for the music/subscription model and how little it pays the artists. So, goodbye Spotify.
No "Around the Internet Today" on this one, folks, I'm busy prepping the page!
